The notice listed EPF, health insurance and personal accident insurance for the Assistant Boat Master, Boat Operator and Terminal Controller posts. It did not publish these benefits for the finance post.
Certificates And Experience Required
Assistant Boat Master applicants needed 12th standard, or 10th with ITI, plus a valid Serang Master Class 3 Certificate. They also needed six years of sea-going or inland-vessel experience, including two years after certification as Serang or Master Class 3.
Boat Operator applicants needed the same school or ITI route, a valid Engine Driver Class 2 certificate, and a Serang or Master Class 3 Certificate. Six years of relevant vessel experience was required, including two years after certification.
Terminal Controller applicants needed a relevant diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science or IT. B.Tech holders needed three years of post-qualification experience, while diploma holders needed five years.
For Deputy Manager (Finance), the accepted routes were CA, CMA or ICWA, or CA Inter, CMA Inter or a master’s degree in Commerce. The experience requirement was five years after qualification for CA or CMA candidates and eight years for the other route. Government or public-sector undertaking experience was preferred.
Tests For The Boat Roles
Assistant Boat Master and Boat Operator candidates faced a written test and document verification. Their skill test covered a driving test, viva and swimming.
