Under the UAE Labour Law, every private-sector employee who completes at least one year of continuous service is entitled to end-of-service gratuity. The amount depends on your last basic salary and how long you worked.
For the first five years you get 21 days of basic wage for each year. After five years you get 30 days of basic wage for each extra year. Part of a year is paid in proportion to the time you worked.
The total gratuity cannot be more than two years' wage. Days of unpaid absence are not counted as service, and the employer must pay within 14 days after the contract ends.
