The Revised Examination Timeline
SSC’s calendar listed the application period as 09 June to 04 July 2025. It originally placed the Tier-I computer-based examination between 13 August and 30 August 2025.
SSC then postponed Tier-I and set revised examination dates from 12 September to 26 September 2025.

Candidates could check their examination-city details from 03 September 2025 through SSC’s designated login module. Admission certificates became available two or three days before each candidate’s examination date.
Corrections Made By SSC
A corrigendum changed the classification of Inspector of Income Tax in CBDT from Group C to Group B. It also amended the wording of the educational qualification for Statistical Investigator Grade-II.
These corrections are part of the historical record. Job seekers should not rely only on the wording of the first notice when reviewing this recruitment cycle.
How Candidates Applied And Gave Preferences
The application window ended on 04 July 2025. The cited calendar confirms the dates but does not provide enough information here to describe the full original application procedure.
After Tier-II, candidates who had appeared in that examination had to submit post and department preferences. They did this through SSC Candidate Login under the My Application tab.
The preference window ran from 09 March 2026 at 6:00 PM until 12 March 2026 at 6:00 PM. Candidates who did not submit preferences within that period were not considered for the final merit list or final selection.
