What Changed In The Notice
The vacancy total changed after the original detailed notice. The post remained Assistant Loco Pilot at Pay Level 2 under the 7th CPC, with initial pay of Rs. 19,900.

How Applications Were Submitted
The original application window opened on 12 April 2025. Corrigendum-1 extended the application deadline to 19 May, the fee-payment deadline to 21 May, and the modification window to 22–31 May 2025.
Applications had to be filed online through an official RRB website. Each candidate could select only one RRB and submit one application.

Who The Notice Accepted
The age limit was 18 to 30 years as of 1 July 2025. The notice allowed category-based relaxation, including five years for SC and ST candidates and three years for OBC-NCL candidates.
Accepted qualifications included Matriculation or SSLC with relevant NCVT or SCVT ITI training, or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in a listed trade. A three-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering was also accepted, including approved combinations of these streams. A relevant engineering degree could replace the diploma.
Candidates waiting for final qualification results were not eligible. The ALP medical standard was A-1, with strict medical and vision requirements. A candidate found medically unsuitable for ALP would not receive an alternative appointment.
Fees And Selection Stages
The examination fee was Rs. 500 for most candidates, with Rs. 400 refundable after appearing in CBT-1. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, female, transgender, minority and EBC candidates paid Rs. 250, refundable after appearing in CBT-1. Payment was online only.

CBT-2 shortlisting was RRB-wise and community-wise. Final ALP panels were based on CBT-2 and aptitude test marks.
Current Notice Position
The revised tentative CBT-1 dates were 13, 16, 17 and 18 February 2026. Later official notices covered city intimation, rescheduling, and response or objection tracking. Candidates should check their selected RRB’s official notices for their own status.
Do not pay an agent for selection. Applying did not require payment to any broker; only the official online examination fee applied. The RRB states that selection is computerised and based on merit.
