The GDC Middle East ATC/GCA Specialist job is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It focuses on operating fixed ground-controlled approach facilities and providing positive control for arriving aircraft.

What The Job Involves

Based within the Air Traffic Control department, the work supports aviation and defence operations. It covers ground-controlled approaches for arriving rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft.

The specialist may also train or supervise assigned Air Traffic Control Specialists. Operational work must follow ICAO, GACA and MNG air traffic control rules, procedures and regulations.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate as a facility-rated controller in the assigned facility.
• Provide on-the-job training for assigned controllers.
• Work within applicable ICAO, GACA and MNG air traffic control requirements.
• Supervise assigned Air Traffic Control Specialists during shifts when required.

Qualifications And Operational Requirements

GDC Middle East requires formal controller training and current professional credentials for this position. Your certificates and licence must remain valid for the relevant requirement.

• Graduation from a DoD, FAA or equivalent Air Traffic Control course.
• A GCA or equivalent rating.
• A current FAA Class 2 medical certificate for expatriates, GACA Class 3 for Saudi nationals, or a military-equivalent medical certificate.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• English proficiency at a minimum ELP Level 4 operational standard.
• Effective oral and written communication, including professional and courteous communication with customers.
• Successful completion of the required medical, drug-testing, background-check and deployment qualification processes.

The skills identified for the work include air traffic control operations, GCA procedures and aviation operations management for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Supervision, on-the-job training and communication are also part of the required capability.
