About the Role
Based within GDC Middle East’s aerospace and defense operations, the position focuses on aircraft rescue and firefighting at an assigned duty location. Emergency work covers aircraft incidents, fire suppression, rescue calls, medical response and hazardous-material situations.
You will report to the Fire Chief or a designated representative. The work requires you to perform and direct emergency functions in difficult or hazardous conditions while applying established aircraft rescue and firefighting practices.
Readiness is another central part of the job. Emergency-response equipment must remain prepared for use, and you will complete the proficiency training required by the fire department.

- Attend daily roll calls and requested department meetings.

Who Can Apply
- You need at least three years of firefighting experience gained in a civilian or military role.
- IFSAC, DoD and/or ProBoard certifications must cover Firefighter I and II and ARFF Firefighter.
- Your certifications must also cover hazardous-material awareness and operations, apparatus driver operation and public telecommunicator duties.
- Required incident-command training includes ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800, along with Emergency Medical Responder certification.
- You need considerable knowledge of aircraft egress, aircraft safety procedures, rescue and firefighting techniques, first aid and CPR.
- English proficiency at Level 3 is required.
- You must hold a valid driver’s licence.
- A physical assessment forms part of the selection process. You must also meet the stated visual-acuity standards and have normal colour discrimination.
- You need the ability to carry out physically demanding work and withstand hazardous conditions.
